I love & hate bitdefender.
I run a small online education company with many thousands of users. One day, a customer calls in saying that there is a trojan on one of our sites. We go to the site with our inhouse security software on (we were running mcafee and nortan at the time) and see nothing. A few hours we get another call from a customer running bitdefender. So we open up the source code of the page that he mentions and sure enough, we’ve been hacked.
We made a great number of changes in the subsequent weeks about security including passwords, status reports on every computer, and we protected 100% of our computers (home, office, portable) with a range of different security packages.
We actually run bit defender, zone alarm, mcaffee, norton, and a few others. Our theory is that since we support people using all of these packages, we need inhouse first hand experience (we also run a diverse set of browsers: IE6,7,8 etc plus PC & Mac)
This explains why I chose and love bitdefender. Now let me tell you about my bit defender frustrations and why I hate them.
